Resumo:
In this article we experimentally study the dynamic behavior of an axially magnetized magnet, which
is free to rotate horizontally, in the presence of a uniform magnetic field that varies periodically in time.
We verify that the equations of motion of this magnet are the same ones of a parametrically-driven pendulum.
From the measurement of small oscillations of this magnet we calculate the parameters needed to
describe the dynamics of this oscillator, such as damping constant, natural frequency of oscillations, and the
amplitude of the ac magnetic field.
