Resumo:
This paper describes the design and development of a system dedicated to monitor and control the
functionality of an incubator. It does so through a dedicated hardware and a set of program modules
developed to monitor in real time the ambient conditions surrounding newborn premature babies, such
as temperature and relative air humidity. The system is also able to store the monitored variables. The
project resulted in an easy to operate, low cost tool which is also portable to different computer
platforms. This project’s main goal was to improve the resources available to medical staff for
monitoring the clinical condition of premature newborn babies.
