Resumo:
The Autistic Spectrum Disorder is a set of neurodevelopmental disorders that directly affect the
individual's behavior and may promote the development of eating problems. In view of this, the
objective of this research was to investigate the use of tools to evaluate the food selectivity
behavior in children and adolescents with ASD. The research was carried out through a search
for articles written in Portuguese and English, using descriptors for the search and for the final
selection inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of these, six articles were used, each of which
includes a different tracking instrument, with BAMBIC originating in the USA; SWEAA,
created in Sweden; the ASD-MBQ made in Japan and the Autism Eating Behavior Scale,
produced in Brazil, developed specifically for the autistic public and the BPFAS, from Canada,
and the SVIA, from Italy, produced for the neurotypical public. These instruments are of great
importance in the performance of the nutritionist, since problems related to food in individuals
with ASD are very recurrent. Knowing this, there is a need to understand the eating behavior
of children and adolescents with ASD, aiming at future conduct directed at the specific needs
of patients, significantly reducing the risk of developing nutritional deficiencies.
