Resumo:
This study aimed to apply the technology to mitigate landfarming of heavy metals and total petroleum
hydrocarbons in oily sludge. The oily sludge has several types of treatment from which the technique of
landfarming, this technique is to spread the sludge oil is so thick in layers defined and transforming the
lees of petroleum Class I (hazardous) to Class II A or II B. The treatment of landfarming varies depending
on the climate, location, temperature and soil type. Its advantages are: low cost of capital and operation.
The results showed that there was need to reduce the chromium of 83%, nickel of 30% and 69% for Zn.
For the concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbon reduction was 58.1%, showing that the system can
contribute to the attenuation of contaminants.
