Résumé:
Venous ulcers are hard-to-heal wounds that occur due to the development
of chronic venous insufficiency. These lesions affect the lower limbs and are usually
located in the lower third. Because it is a difficult wound to heal with high rates of
recurrence, the care of patients with venous ulcers requires safe care and directed by care
protocols. Objective: To report the experience of physicians and nurses in the application
of a follow-up booklet for patients with venous insufficiency. Methods: This research is
part of a larger work entitled "Construction and validation of a booklet for monitoring
people with venous insufficiency". This is a methodological research carried out to
evaluate the application of this booklet by physicians and nurses of primary health care
in the municipality of Alagoa Grande/PB. Data were collected through interviews and
analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique. Results and discussions: Seventeen
professionals who work in the UBS of the city were invited. However, only 6 participated
in the research, because only these participated in the second stage of validation of the
booklet. Given this, three categories emerged: Category 1: The difficulties to assist people
with venous insufficiency are: lack of material resources, difficult access to specialists
and poor compliance of users; Category 2: The booklet is an excellent tool for monitoring
patients with chronic venous insufficiency; Category 3: The booklet brought motivation
and security for assistance. Conclusion: In this research, it was possible to report the
experience of doctors and nurses in the application of a booklet for monitoring the patient
with venous insufficiency as a motivating experience, excellent and guiding assistance,
which aroused in these professionals the interest in learning more about the subject.
