Résumé:
The effect s of incorporation of a mineral filler treated with a titanate coupling agent on the properties of isotactic polypropylene were evaluated. Polypropylene composites with filler levels of 10,20,30 and 40% by weight: were mixed at room temperature in a Henschel mixer and also in mixed of "V" type. The resulting compound was processed in a single screw extruder and finally grinded in a mill. The test specimens were made by injection molding. The products were characterized by means of thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry, physical analysis (melt flow index and hardness), mechanical
analysis (tensile, flexural and impact tests) and morphological analysis. Results shown that the impact strength of composites increased with the increasing rate of diluted TTS, wich was corroborated by morphological analysis. The polymer-filler adhesion was improved with the filler treatment with diluted TTS, comparing with non - diluted TTS. The adhesion was improved with bigger filler particles. The filler treatment with diluted TTS did not affected the hardness properties of composites, as well as the flexural modulus, comparing with non-diluted TTS. The tensile strength did not suffer any modification with the filler treatment with diluted TTS and comparing with non-diluted TTS.
