Résumé:
In brief, the design of structures for control studies and analyzes the decisions related to the structural
design of control system applied to chemical plants, specifically what variables can and should be controlled,
measured, handled and what relations should be established between them. One of the main goals is to
determine the set of variables which, when kept in their respective set points, indirectly leads to a (almost)
optimal operation with acceptable economic loss without the need to re-optimize the process as disorders
occur, reducing the frequency with which real-time optimization (RTO) that in most cases is not simple.
This study aimed to understand the operation of a plant for production of vinyl acetate in addition to an
optimization for the production emphasizing the maximization of profits with a reduction in use of raw
materials front of operational disturbances. This optimization was performed using a Matlab code done by
Michael Luyben, Thomas McAvoy, Rong Chen, and Kedar Dave that simulates the process of production of
acetate together with some optimization functions of the software.
With the results we could see that
