ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of Nursing students about the evaluation and
treatment of wounds. Methodology: exploratory and descriptive study with a quantitative
approach, carried out with 42 students of the undergraduate Nursing course in the city of
Campina Grande. Data were collected through an electronic form available on the Google
Forms platform, with questions about the sociodemographic profile of academics and 10
objective questions validated and divided into four domains of knowledge. Results: Most
academics were women, enrolled in a public educational institution and with an average
age of 25 years and attending the 9th period. 90% of the instrument's questions had a high
percentage of correct answers (>80%). Academics from public institutions had a
statistically higher rate of correct answers than academics from private institutions
(p<0.001). Conclusion: In general, the students showed a good mastery of the subject,
however, it was found that academics enrolled in public educational institutions were
more correct on the subject.
