To build and validate a booklet-type educational technology for the timely diagnosis
of HIV infection among key populations (men who have sex with men, sex workers and their
clientele, transgender people, transvestites and injecting drug users), in the context of Primary
Health Care. Method: This is a methodological development study, carried out through the
following steps: integrative literature review, prepared according to the guidelines - Preferred
Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis in the development of the booklet;
content and semantic validation of the booklet, by expert-judges and target audience. The
research was carried out in an electronic environment, from March to May 2023, with the
participation of 08 expert judges from the health area, 07 from other areas, and 13 individuals
who fall into the key populations. Validated instruments adapted for collection were used. The
Content Validity Index and the SAM Score were calculated for the analysis of the expert-judges'
responses, and the Semantic Agreement Index was used for the analysis of the responses of the
target audience. Results: The educational booklet produced was considered valid in terms of
content and appearance, according to expert judges and the target audience, with CVI and IVS
values above 0.70 and SAM scores greater than 10. However, the booklet was re-read of the
language and content and review of the images, considering the suggestions of the research
participants. Conclusions: The validated booklet can be widely disseminated and used by key
populations, with the aim of informing them in accessible language, encouraging regular
testing, aiming at early diagnosis, reducing the transmission of infection and improving people's
quality of life. living with HIV.
