Resumen:
This work was carried out to evaluate the bioactivity of the hydroalcoholic extract of
“sucupira” on the fungal microflora of peanut, packaged in cotton, inside and outside of the
fruit during 12 months in the laboratory without controlled temperature and relative humidity.
Being identified the A. flavus it was isolated and grown in culture medium BDA. The seeds
were contaminated with inoculum used for experiments. The seed treatment was performed
by using 10 mL of the extract of “sucupira” for each 300 g of seeds, in doses of 0 (control),
10, 40, 70 and 100 mL (extract:water). After treated the seeds were divided into two lots,
one of the Aspergillus flavus was inoculated, leaving the other with only the applied extract.
After that the seeds of each batch were packaged and stored. For the analysis of variance,
it was used the completely randomized design (CRD) in the factorial scheme 2 x 5 x 6, with
4 replications. And, based on the results, it was concluded that: the inoculated seeds are
stored with lower moisture content than the non inoculated one; the higher doses of the
sucupira extract used in the non inoculated procedure contributed to reducing the incidence
of fungi; the moisture content of seeds stored within the fruit was lower than the one of the
seeds stored outside of the fruit; the incidence of fungi in stored groundnut in shell was
lower than in the peanuts stored outside of the shell.
