Resumen:
The changes observed in the feminine biophysical profile during the aging - particularly those associated to
the hormonal conditions of the climateric period and after menopause, and those resultants of the genetic,
ambient and mannering factors - are presented as ponderal profit, increase of the percentage of corporal fat,
beyond modifications in the composition and distribution of the adipose tissue. These alterations, as well as
the resultant metabolic abnormalitys of the same ones, are associates to a bigger prevalence of metabolic
syndrome in perimenopause and can explain the increase of the incidence of cardiovascular illnesses in this
phase of the life of the woman. The proposal of this study is to determine, after the collection of data of the
physical, laboratorial examination and of complementary examinations of women in the climateric and
postmenopause period attended by the ambulatory of Gynecology of the University Hospital Alcides
