Resumo:
The implementation of educational activities focused on environmental conservation can contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of young people, promoting development and social integration. With this purpose, the present study aimed to analyze the perception of ninth-grade students in the municipality of Sumé-PB regarding environmental education and agroecology. The research was conducted during May 2022 at the Dep. Evaldo Gonçalves de Queiroz Agrotechnical School in Sumé-PB, with students aged 12 to 15, totaling 34 students. The results obtained indicate that the majority of the young people had knowledge about the topics in question, which may be related and considered of great importance to the implementation of pedagogical activities with agroecology and environmental education as mediating themes, enabling healthy transformations in the school and the population. Thus, the coordination of educational actions aimed at environmental conservation is important, and the school is the most suitable and privileged space for the implementation of these activities, as it is the main nucleus for the dissemination of knowledge.
