Resumen:
The experiment was conducted at Cachoeira de São Porfírio Farm, in Várzea municipal district,
state of Paraíba - Brazil, with the objective of contributing to the environment monitoring of areas in
the process of degradation and / or rehabilitation, using for that the information provided by the study
of community soil fauna. The collections were made in two periods: dry (corresponding to the months
in september to december, 2008) and rainy season (in the months of march to june 2009). The
macrofauna organisms of the were captured by the type of modified Trapa of Tretzel traps, and the
mesofauna organisms of were collected with metal ring. The extraction of mesofauna organisms was
made by a modified Berlese-Tullgren apparatus. Soil macrofauna in the dominant group was the
Hymenoptera group in all areas and in the mesofauna group was Acarina.
