Energia solar fotovoltaica no município de Coremas - PB: impactos e contradições para o desenvolvimento sustentável local.

Abstract

The discussion on the use of renewable electricity generation methods has shown to be on the rise both in the academic community and in the legislative sphere, as well as in international and intergovernmental organizations such as the United Nations and the International Energy Agency. Energy, as well as locally. Due to technological and scientific developments, the sun has come to be considered an important environmental asset with regard to energy production. The general objective was to identify actions that contributed to the municipal sustainable development, resulting from the operation of the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Plant located in Coremas - PB. As for the specific objectives, information about municipal management was analyzed in order to promote incentives for the operational development of photovoltaic energy and what are the benefits for the Coremense population according to the point of view of these managers; a survey was carried out on the environmental public policies of the municipality of Coremas - PB and its contribution to local sustainable development; the impacts presented in the Environmental Impact Report caused by the installation of the solar complex in the city of Coremas - PB were discussed; the environmental, economic and social projects subsidized by the solar company were evaluated as part of the compensatory actions for the socio-environmental impacts of the undertaking, and; A booklet was produced with information in language accessible to citizens about the real damages caused exposed in the Environmental Impact Reports. As for the methodological course, from the point of view of its nature, it was a basic research of an exploratory nature, characterized as a documental research. Likewise, a field study was carried out, applied with the objective of acquiring information about the research object and/or hypothesis. As for the existing relationship between sustainable development and municipal public administration and the challenges and prospects for sustainable municipal management, it was found that the sustainability theme is part of a list of political, economic and social interests. However, when presenting the concept of sustainable development, the structure of municipal public administration, as well as the importance of public hearings in this context as an instrument of popular participation, it was verified that the city of Coremas - PB does not have environmental public policies, which goes against the ideal of established precepts on sustainable development.
