Résumé:
Throughout life, human beings need to deal with financial decisions that, if not
worked on can lead people to consume more than they are able to afford and
thereby compromising their current and future well-being. Therefore, the objective of this research was
identify the perception of elementary and high school students from a public school about
Financial Education and its importance. To achieve this objective, the procedures
methodological aspects were based on the application of a structured questionnaire as an instrument of
data collection, which was composed of thirteen questions that aimed to identify the
respondents' financial behavior. The target audience of this research was divided into
two groups, students in the 6th year of Elementary School II and students in the 3rd year of High School.
It was concluded that there is a need to expand studies on Financial Education with students
High School and Elementary School, being of great need and importance, since
enable the development of critical thinking and reflection by young people about their lives
financial and assertive decision-making, indirectly influencing the well-being
citizens' economic and social.
