Abstract:
The objective of this work was to evaluate the dietary supply with different levels of Flor de seda
(C. procera) on serum concentrations of Total Protein, Albumin Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium,
Cholesterol, were also evaluated milk compounds as acidity, density, fat and protein in lactating goats.
It was used 9 Saanen goats at thirty days of lactation, with live weight of 35,0 kg and daily average
milk production of 1 kg. The treatments consisted of a diet control and two diets supplemented with
Silk flower (T1 = 100g; T2 = 200g). The animals were individually fed and manually milked once a day,
in the early morning. Data were analyzed in four Latin squares 3 x 3 and the comparisons among
averages were done by Duncan's Test at 5% level of probability. The studied serum metabolites were
not influenced by treatments. The parameters: density, acidity and protein were within of the values
considered as normal by Instrução Normativa n.51. The results of this experiment, allows us to
conclude that the levels of 100 and 200g of Flor de seda can be used without damage milk production
or physical-chemical characteristics.
