Abstract:
The present work is an exercise of epistemological analysis on the relationship between the teaching of Geography and Rural Education. Discussing this relationship is very necessary, as Geography in rural schools is essential to develop students' critical and reflective sense, and a way to fight for more and better policies for this space and for this population. So the general objective of the research is to analyze the specificities of Rural Education in relation to the Teaching of Geography in the final years of Elementary School I. The research methodology was a bibliographic survey, analysis of official documents and analysis of secondary data relevant to the research. This research aims to contribute to the teaching of Geography in the field and to the improvement of teachers who somehow work with Geography. It is concluded after a brief history of Rural Education in Brazil that from social movements, some legalized achievements were achieved, with acquired rights, but which are not guaranteed, since government actions can deliberately cancel public policies, as many social and educational policies.
