Abstract:
This work aims to analyse the didactization of theoretical and experiential knowledge on reading involving
elementary education teachers at the Dr. Hortênsio de Sousa Ribeiro’s State School for Elementary and
Secundary Education (PREMEN), in the City of Campina Grande, State of Paraíba. Having as a basis the
PCN-LP’s concept of reading and the school textbook as a sociointeractionist tool for literacy, we discovered
that the teachers’ reading practices, within the classroom, are still grounded on a concept of reading which
entails text decoding, with a little improvement in the study of text genres.
