Resumo:
The development of society has grown since the 21st century. However, several problems interfere in the urban environment as a barrier to growth, the lack of urban mobility being one of them. The city of Coremas-PB is similar to several other small Brazilian cities, it presents recurring problems due to the intense use of private vehicles, contradicting the principles and guidelines of the National Policy for Sustainable Urban Mobility. In addition, the municipality lacks measures by public agencies to mitigate urban mobility disorders. Therefore, this work intends to analyze, from a research perspective, how the cycleway modal can be incorporated into everyday life to carry out displacements in Coremas, analyzing whether the implementation of a cycleway would increase the use of bicycles, in addition to detecting the factors which motivate and/or prevent people from using it. To this end, a questionnaire was used as a research instrument that was applied to the population through visits to the population's homes using the Google Forms platform. This instrument allowed the interviewee to answer what factors motivate and prevent the use of bicycles. The data obtained in the interviews were available for analysis, and it was observed that the implementation of bicycle paths induces the use of bicycles as a means of transport. The questionnaire showed that 34% of the city's population uses bicycles and that they still face problems in their use, such as the lack of infrastructure related to bicycle use, lack of security, lack of signage, among others. The questionnaire allowed the population to show their point of view in relation to this modal, making due considerations about the problem, and finally it was possible to propose solutions and/or improvements for the problems identified from the analysis of the information.
