Abstract:
Our purpose was study of protein enrichment of algaroba (Prosopis
juliflora) by Lentinus crinitus CCIBt 2611 aiming to produce animal feed. The effects of
temperature (28, 34, and 40 °C), soybean flour supplementation (0, 5, and 10 %), and
fermentation time (0, 7, and 14 days) on protein enrichment was evaluated by a 2³ central
composite design in duplicate with four central points, considering significant p < 0,05.
The fermentation was carried out in closed pots containing 30 g of substrate with or
without soybean flour, 75 ml of distilled water, and inoculum. The temperature and
fermentation time did not show effect and the best condition for protein enrichment was
using 10 % of soybean flour. The model obtained, P = 7,44 − 0,54X1+ 3,17X3 − 0,73X3 − 0,79X23 ± 0,81,, was significant and predictive, with R2 = 0.9290 and pure error
= 0.8106.
