Resumo:
The environmental contamination by metals is due to industrial and agro-industrial activities. The consequence of such contamination is the occurrence of serious toxic effects on plants, animals and humans. So, it's necessary to work for decontamination soils and effluents contaminated with these metals. The decontamination of wastewater is a problem that must be solved through recovery or removal of metals from the environment. However, conventional treatments submitted employshave a low efficiency and their application requires a high investment. In view of the need for efficient and inexpensive treatment, biosorption, that is a technique of wastewater treatment which usesorganic matter live or deadas biosorbents. So this research has purpose ofrealize a review bibliographic on the biosorption of heavy metals.
