Abstract:
This study aimed to conduct a review about the main aspects of the induction strategies in the production of Leishmania chagasi recombinant antigens. The importance in the development of such antigens is based on the need to produce in large scale of recombinant proteins. These proteins may be important for farmacology, resulting in considerable pharmacological action without or with less toxicological aspects. Biotechnology allows through recombinant DNA technology to generate these proteins using Escherichia coli as heterologous host. In this expression system is needed to use optimization strategies, especially in large scale production. Thereby, knowledge about the type of inductor, its induction time and concentration and concentration influence on the growing culture are parameters that may positively affect the process itself as well its economic viability.
