Resumen:
The accelerated growth of urban centers in Brazil occurred very quickly, making urban planning unable to keep up with it. In the municipality of Itaporanga-PB it was no different. The city has a greater vehicle traffic, both due to the high number of inhabitants, since it has 25 thousand inhabitants and is the city with the largest number of people in the region, and because it is a city that is the commercial center of its region, the Vale do Piancó, reason that attracts people from the surrounding towns every day. With this in mind, it was possible to observe a decrease in traffic flow and an increase in claims in the city. Therefore, the implementation of a binary appears as an option to reduce these problems. In this way, this work has as content the application of a binary in the streets Praxedes Pitanga, Marechal Deodoro da Fônseca and Ananias Conserva. In order to apply the methodology, an in loco study of the current conflicts and movements was carried out, initially geographically and later characterizing the road network, through volumetric counts carried out manually. After analyzing the conflicts of traffic movements, it was possible to perceive that the implementation of the Binary System would result in a 50% reduction of conflicting movements, making the fluidity of the aforementioned streets better, guaranteeing greater safety for the inhabitants and timely travel. reduced. Because, after volumetric counting, it was possible to perceive that two of the intersections studied have a very intense flow of vehicles and, this intensity combined with the greater number of conflicts at the intersections is not something beneficial. Therefore, with that in mind, the binary does emerge as an effective alternative to the problem of Itaporanga - PB.
