Abstract:
This master's thesis research aims to analyze intra-cluster coopetition, identifying a framework that integrates the dimensions and elements that emerge from this regional development strategy. The dissertation is structured in three complementary articles using different methodologies. Firstly, a Systematic LiteratureReview was performed based on the Prisma and Spider protocols to identify the state of the art of research on cluster coopetition. The second article developed a simple case study to determine the existence of intra-cluster coopetition, its dimensions, and formative elements through Content analysis using the NV ivo software with a priori coding. The third article performed a comparative analysis considering the intended by the cluster managers and the perceived by clusterized firms, identifying the (dis)agreements of coopetition strategy with a posteriori categorization. Computer-assisted qualitative analysis (CAQDA S) was used with mixed approaches: a statistical content analysis tool (Iramuteq software) and an interpretive software tool (NV ivo). The results of the RSL reduced the fragmentation of the literature and generated a research agenda that considers the dynamics of intracluster coopetition. The results of this dissertation showed that researchers are analyzing the characteristics of the Porterian cluster in the dimensions of intracluster coopetition, generating a theoretical framework for the Rethinking cluster. The findings indicated seven dimensions of intracluster coopetition: Strategic Fit, Perceived Benefits, Mediated Coopetition, Social Interaction, Coopetitive Orientation, Coopetition Risks, and Coopetition Temporality as first-order variables. Meanwhile, the intracluster coopetition elements created second-order variables: Public policies and risks, Co-location, J oint strategies, Interaction, Governance, Collaborative innovation, and Market Community. The results of the joint analysis of the speeches of the cluster managers and the clustered ones still revealed factors of the intracluster coopetition strategy in the analyzed case, namely: Public Policy, Coopetition Cycle, Coopetition Facilitators, Cluster Representativeness, Perceived Benefits, Coopetition Barriers, and RiskBenefit. The findings of the three articles show that the theoretical view of intracluster coopetition and the empirical view converge but go further, as they allow the generation of a framework that complements the Cluster Theory.
