Résumé:
In this work is presented a method for fault location on transmission lines monitored in two terminals. The algorithm is based on the detection of transients through Park Transformation application on three-phase voltage signals in both ends of the line. Such
transformation generates a rotating reference system that permits the calculation of signals with different behavior for the cases of the system operating normally and in transient conditions and, consequently, it is possible to detect disturbances in electrical power systems. The evaluation and validation of the proposed method are performed by means of digital simulations using the ATP software. For this purpose, real and fictitious transmission lines are considered. The MATLAB® is used to perform the simulations automatically. So, a lot of cases with different fault conditions in transmission lines with different transposition scheme are studied. Fault location results are presented and classified as satisfactory or not satisfactory depending on the value of the calculated error.
Computer simulations prove that the fault location using the proposed method may
decrease the search time of the fault because restricts de search field of the problem and,
due to perform the fault location almost immediately after the disturbance occurrence,
avoids the post-fault analysis of oscillographic records normally carried out by
conventional methods.
