Abstract:
This work presents the results of a didactic experiment involving the teaching of areas of plane figures. The main objective was to verify the performance of the students regarding the deduction of the formula using a manipulation material kit, which provided a more visual and intuitive understanding of these mathematical concepts. In addition, we present some historical aspects about the object of knowledge, as well as definitions, theorems of each plane figure. In the fourth chapter, some trigonometric formulas were exposed in which their demonstrations are presented using the concept of areas of plane figures. Finally, we use a Didactic Sequence that can be applied both in Elementary and High School. In general, we conclude that the use of a Didactic Sequence as a learning tool is of great importance whatever the area of knowledge.
