Resumen:
There is a concern by the organizations to do a better management of the waste items
generated in their production processes and in others activities performed by a company,
mainly due to legal requirements. A good waste management can contribute to environmental,
social and economic benefits, with the revaluation of items that are incorporated into
secondary production cycles or secondary business cycles. Based on these assumptions, this
paper seeks to evaluate waste management in a dairy sector cooperative, installed in the city
of Caturité. The research is classified as descriptive and case study, with qualitative analysis
being applied for data processing. As main results, there is care with the destination of water
through treatment and storage in dams of the Cooperative itself, in addition to other waste
such as whey or when products return to the organization. The results indicate that the
cooperative has actions for the treatment of productive residues, but some actions in relation
to the milk rejected after analyzes must be better managed. In this case, it is recommended to
implement Secure Final Disposal, if another post-consumption channel cannot be applied.
