Resumo:
Moringa oleifera Lam is a tree plant of great social and economic importance. very well
known not only in Brazil but worldwide due to its medicinais and nutritional
characteristics. Based on scientific information, moringa is seen as a plant that is
moderately tolerant to the effects provided by salinity. In this situation, the objective was
to evaluate the effects of nitrogen fertilization and the salinity of the water used for
irrigation in the culture of moringa oleifera Lam. The work was developed in a protected
environment at the Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG, located in the
municipality of Pombal-PB. The treatments were distributed in randomized blocks being
arranged in a factorial scheme of 4 x 4, corresponding to 4 levels of salinity S1= 0.3 dSm-
1, S2= 1.8 dSm-1, S3= 3.3 dSm-1 and e S4= 4.8 dSm-1, associated with four levels of
ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4, in the concentrations of N1= 0, N2= 30g, N3= 60g and
N4= 120g/kg, totaling 16 treatments and four repetitions, with 62 experimental units. The
variables evaluated during 45 days were: plant height, stem diameter, root length, root
dry mass, total dry mass. The data were examined using analysis of variance, applying
the F test at a 5% probability level. It was observed that there was no interaction between
the factors saline levels and levels of emotion for the evaluations at 45 days. There was
no cognitively significant effect for salt levels, with only a cognitively significant effect
for combustion levels for the following variables: plant diameter, stem diameter, root
height, root dry mass and dry mass total.
