Resumo:
Population growth has led to a considerable increase in demand for food, which has brought to light a global concern about ways to meet this demand, considering that, in most cases, farmers resort to conventional agricultural practices that are harmful to the environment. Thus, a challenge related to socio-environmental responsibility emerge, since, for natural resources to be used appropriately and to generate positive results in terms of food production, it is necessary to use sustainable agriculture strategies. Therefore, the present work aims to propose a multi-criteria decision support model for planning sustainable agriculture on small rural properties. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was made, with the aim of searching for works related to the topic. Subsequently, a system was defined for deciding on the sustainable planting strategy. Initially, Value-focused Thinking used to structure the problem, then FITradeoff is proposed to obtain a ranking of planting strategies. Finally, the proposed model was applied to a small rural property in Alagoa Nova. The proposed model presented the following main advantages: structured procedure to address decision-makers' preferences; inclusion of qualitative and quantitative aspects of the process; definition of the most appropriate sustainable planting strategy for the property, consider the pillars of sustainability in conjunction with the decision-maker's preferences.
