Resumo:
This paper presents a comparative study between the technical and economic criteria for
dimensioning conductors in three installations, as well as an alternative dimensioning, which
is considered important when dimensioned according to the technical standard and below
the limit of 120 mm². Installation 1 has four 125 hp motors as loads and is connected to the
transformer by branch 1, installation 2 has three 20 hp motors as loads, being connected to
the transformer by branch 2 and installation 3 has two motors as loads. 40 hp and two 500
hp engines, with branch 3 being the feeder conductor. To perform a comparison, using
financial analysis tools, to assess the profitability of investments. From the results, it can be
seen that the economic dimensioning is a viable tool to obtain increasingly efficient projects,
although it does not stand out as a good investment alternative for the cases of mediumlarge
installations, given the high initial investment. On the other hand, the proposed alternative
dimensioning presents gains associated with the investment in all the evaluated installations.
