Resumo:
The influence of the media is quite predominat in the Brazilian legal system, even more so when we talk about this influence in relation to cases taken to the Jury Courts, na institution that spans numerous countries and periods. It is evident that the currently formed Sentencing Councils are not left out of this influence exerted by the media, perceiving a total disparity regarding the rights that the defendant has, mainly in relation to the right to the principle of in dubio pro reo. This principle plays na important role in proceedings for the defendant, who understands and recognizes that in case of doubt, this must be taken into consideration for the defendant. As a result, the media ends up influencing the entire procedure involved in decisions in Jury Courts, and in addition, they assume the role of the fourth power, in addition to the three that prevail in the national order, the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary.
