Abstract:
This study investigates the interactions between the metaverse, the fashion industry and the legal system, focusing on the legal, cultural and social implications arising from this dynamic and constantly evolving scenario. The overall goal is to analyze how the metaverse is reshaping fashion and challenging the legal system, examining issues such as copyright, trademarks, privacy and data protection. The methodology involves a bibliographic review covering the period from 2016 to 2023 and critical analysis, with an emphasis on Brazilian and international legislation. The approach adopted is exploratory. The first chapter introduces the concept of metaverse, highlighting its
three-dimensional and shared nature, as well as its impact on social and economic interactions. The second chapter explores the intersections between the metaverse, fashion and law, examining how the fashion industry adapts to this new virtual environment and the legal challenges that arise. The third chapter focuses on the importance of patents in the context of intellectual property and their relevance in protecting innovation in the metaverse. The results highlight the need to adapt legal and regulatory structures to reflect the complex dynamics of this new paradigm, balancing the promotion of creativity with the protection of legal rights and interests in this dynamic context.
