Abstract:
The Financial System and its constant changes have been having a major impact on the way in which available financial channels are used, and services such as transfers, cash withdrawals and payments that were made within the financial institution itself can be mentioned as targets of this process, which required waiting time in service queues. The Central Bank of Brazil (Bacen) announced the Instant Payment method (PIX) in 2020, always seeking improvements for its users, especially in light of the pandemic scenario caused by Covid-19. PIX allows transfers at any time and simplified operation. Therefore, this paper's main objective is to describe the main characteristics of this new payment method, the Brazilian Instant Payment (PIX). The paper was developed through a literature review and secondary data from research carried out and published by the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). Based on the review, it was found that the impact generated by PIX was
positive in terms of technological inclusion, agility, transparency, convenience and inclusion for all those who signed up to the new payment and receipt method.
