Resumo:
The motivation of the present work is to analyze the excessive selectivity of the would-be adopters, what social and cultural issues motivated them and how this can harm the best interest and development of the infant. In which, the institution of adoption is based on an affiliation based on affection and not on the biological, and it is necessary to encourage it and break this paradigm of search for the ideal child, because many children and adolescents who do not fit this idealized profile suffer impacts, such as the long wait for a surrogate family and lasting institutionalization. In this way, affection and full protection together with the family nucleus are based and essential for the adequate growth of the child, in addition to the State and society protecting and guaranteeing health, education and dignified living conditions, provided for in
the Federal Constitution of 1988. That said, the main objective is to verify the reason for the excessive selectivity of the would-be adopters, which is linked to the search for an idealized profile and how this affects the social and psychological development of the minor. Thus, it was necessary for the research the use of methodology with explanatory and deductive bias, in
which it started from a general idea to have a position on the theme, interpretation techniques, with the use of bibliographic references, through physical and digital books, scientific articles, among others, in addition to the demonstration of empirical results, through data, taken from official websites. Thus, as a result of the work, it was demonstrated that there is a preference
for younger children, with white ethnicity and who do not have disabilities or health problems. And due to this selectivity, the best interest of the adoptee, full protection, must be prioritized, in addition to promoting adoption without prejudice and analyzing the power of selective choice of the would-be adopter. Therefore, it is concluded how important it is to preserve the rights of
children and adolescents, in which the institution of adoption must establish the dignity of the human person of minors, a principle that is directed to all human beings, without differentiation.
