Resumo:
The present work explores the feasibility of introducing public policies aimed at a conciliatory approach to resolving conflicts within families, with a special focus on mediation as an effective tool for managing situations of emotional abandonment. The general objective is to explore how mediation can be the most appropriate approach for conflict management within the family, especially in cases of emotional abandonment. This study unfolded through bibliographic and documentary research. It begins with an analysis of the evolution of the family structure, as portrayed by the Civil Code of 1916 and the Federal Constitution of 1988, along with the conflicts surrounding it, recognizing it as an environment of essential affection for child
development and, therefore, deserving special protection from the State. Next,
emotional abandonment and its contemporary scope are conceptualized.
Subsequently, an analysis of the landscape of public policies for conflict resolution in Brazil is carried out, highlighting the principles and techniques of conflict mediation. Finally, there is a reflection on the role of dialogue, multidisciplinary treatment, and parenting workshops in the restoration of relationships between parents and children, observing their application in some Brazilian states and pointing out specific challenges inherent in this context.
