Resumen:
The mangrove is a coastal, intertropical ecosystem typical of the low areas of the rivers to the boundary of transition between land and sea. The trees are halophytes, diversifying between tree and shrub species, adapted to the strong influence of salinity and variations in water levels to the detriment of tidal fluctuations. This work carried out in the Gramame River Estuary on the southern coast of Paraíba, had the scope of knowing the environmental conditions of the area to support actions for the preservation and conservation of the mangrove ecosystem present in the surroundings. The research was systematized in field activities for in locu recognition of the environmental conditions in the area. Initially, a Geoenvironmental analysis of the Gramame-BHRG River Basin was carried out; then, a survey of the phytosociological structure of the mangrove was carried out, an important tool to support decision-making for the maintenance and restoration of this ecosystem; and last but not least, the energetic signature of the mangrove was established in order to identify the physical, chemical and structural environmental conditions of the forest, as well as possible stressors that are important to the management and preservation of the mangrove.
