Resumo:
The importance of studying Systems of Linear Equations in High School is due to their use in modeling various problems. These problems range from the simplest involving two equations and two unknowns to problems in technological and scientific areas which cover a high number of variables requiring more elaborate and robust methods of resolution. The main objective of this work is to present and relate the historicity, concept, importance and applications of the study of Systems of Linear Equations using direct and iterative numerical resolution methods. Combined with this, the use of the Python computational language, as a digital and technological resource, proposing the use of the codes of these methods as a pedagogical tool to be used in Mathematics classes with high school students. Furthermore, this work proposes a Didactic Sequence that explores programming concepts, goes through matrices, concepts of Systems of Linear Equations and finally, addresses the solution of systems numerically.
