Resumen:
The paper evaluates the experience of an alternative financing of rural activities, for small farmers in the semi-arid region of the Brazilian Northeast, as an instrument of technical, economic and social change and the promotion of local development. The theme is examined in order to study the organization and evolution of the funding system; evaluate the activities and the consequences of production systems, and to study the feasibility of the proposed financing. Experience is assessed on your third party year of operation with the small producers in the region of Massaroca, municipality of Juazeiro (BA). The large number of of adjustments and adaptations that are necessary to a system of financing to make it accessible to this category of producers and the flexibility of the financing arrangements, which financial support to the various exploitation of available productive resources. It is concluded that the innovation of a financing system, counting with an effective participation of the producers, is an instrument local development dynamics and can be an important component of support for regional rural development.
