Resumen:
Based on the understanding that the interaction between individuals contributes significantly to
the subject's formation process, the relevance of understanding how to share knowledge and
experiences is recognized, considering their specificities and objectives, in which different
strategies are used in different social contexts. In this context, this work brings a reflection on
the importance of Aesthetics in narratives in Libras, especially focused on the formation of the
Deaf reader. Thus, it presents as a general objective to identify how the reader's formation
process can develop, specifically the deaf child, through storytelling, noting the importance of
using aesthetics for the development of understanding of the signed text. In view of this, the
following specific objectives are: to understand the use of Aesthetics in the storytelling process
in Libras, to point out the contributions of the use of aesthetics in the narrative in Libras and to
propose strategies that facilitate the teaching of deaf literature. As for the methodology, it is a
qualitative research of explanatory typology, being carried out the analysis of parts of the work
A caterpillar and the Butterfly of the author Eunice Braido, translated by the researcher,
considering the use of the aesthetic elements. The results point to the undeniable contribution
of aesthetics in the narratives, aimed at deaf students' reading skills, providing them with an
active and participatory subject in the society in which they are inserted.
