Resumo:
Deaf education has been widely discussed in Brazil in recent years, mainly due to the recognition of
the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), through law nº 10.436/2002, which defined guidelines
regarding specific elements regarding the development of the Deaf subject. This work is the result of
concern about the lack of didactic and pedagogical materials in the teaching and learning process of
deaf students. Thus, in order to contribute to the improvement of this scenario, we proposed to answer
the following question: what didactic support material, intended for deaf high school students, can be
developed in order to enable a better understanding of the difference between the signs that define
the basic concepts of kinematics and mechanics from those used daily? Faced with this challenge, the
objective of this work was to develop six didactic videos that could contemplate deaf students in
understanding the concepts of physics, specifically kinematics and mechanics, such as: Velocity,
Acceleration, Inertia, Force and Work. With regard to methodology, in order to achieve the objectives
of this study, we chose to carry out a research of an applied nature, and, regarding its objectives, we
chose to adopt a research of an exploratory nature. This work is based on the need to bring new
technological tools to the teaching of deaf students. Through these videos, physical concepts were
discussed in a clear and objective way. Using an informal and relaxed language, the videos are
available on the YouTube channel and application, which makes access to them very easy.
