Abstract:
This paper presents a proposal for an elective that addresses the mathematical aspects associated with the Brazilian electoral process, intending to develop this theme for high school students. Initialy, we analyzed Law 13.415/2017 and the guiding documents for this stage of schooling. Futhermore, we show the current electoral legislation, seen from the mathematical perspective, dierentiating and characterizing the models of elections in Brazil: majority and proportional. As a result, we present technical terms and the mathematical algorithms used to deĄne the elected. Finally, we bring proposals for activities to be experienced by students, based on the competences and skills of the BNCC, to assist teachers when addressing elections in the classroom.
