Resumen:
Fake News is false information, strategically disseminated to cause misinformation, which gained momentum on social media very easily. The research had the general objective of analyzing the impacts of Fake News in Brazil during the Covid-19 pandemic. Specific objectives: carry out a survey of reports considered Fake News by credible, nationally recognized journalistic portals; understand the motivation behind Fake News disseminated on social media; describe the importance of checking the news read today; and demonstrate the impacts of fake news on Brazilian society. To achieve the objective, a descriptive-exploratory study, of a qualitative nature, was used, through bibliographical research, documentary research and case study in the collection of fake news identified by credible journalistic portals during the Covid-19 pandemic, in period between the months of March 2020 and May 2023. Based on the results obtained after analyzing the data, it is possible to state that the dissemination of false news disseminated on social media during the coronavirus pandemic culminated in the population's misinformation, hesitation vaccination and as a result the number of deaths and those infected by the disease increased. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that fake news did a great disservice in combating the pandemic, especially when it came to vaccination, with negative consequences for the lives of citizens.
