A globalization connected to advances in computer technologies has made cost reduction and waste minimization a necessity for survival in the market. In this context, determining an effective production sequencing for companies that produce a wide range of products is seen as an important optimization tool, ensuring greater production efficiency, and avoiding situations such as the idle use of production resources. Considering makespan as the time for the completion of the last task, this study aims to structure the sequencing of an ore beneficiation company to minimize it. To achieve this, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the Production Control Coordinator, Quality Analyst, and Production Leader of the organization under study, to facilitate the collection of data related to the production line of hygienic granules. Subsequently, the data were structured, forming five instances/databases corresponding to five distinct production weeks, which were used to obtain solutions via LEKIN® and via Greedy Heuristic, specifically formulated for the problem. Finally, the results obtained from the conducted computational experiments were compared, with the heuristic application being 33.08% better than the software, demonstrating the level of efficiency of the methods applied in solving the problem at hand.
