Resumo:
Aptenia cordifolia (L.f.) Schwantes is a succulent herbaceous plant, belonging to the Aizoaceae family, native to Africa, and has great ornamental value. Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) is an annual herbaceous vegetable belonging to the Apiaceae family, native to the Mediterranean Sea basin, and is highly appreciated in cooking. The research aimed to evaluate the performance of sun rose and coriander subjected to different types of water, and how to specifically diagnose aerial and root phytomass for both species. The experimental area is located in the municipality of Cuité-PB. The period corresponding to the evaluations of this stage was three months, starting on May 17th and ending on July 7th, 2022. The water treatments used for irrigation management were T1 (C1S1 – desalinated), T2 (C4S4 – salinized ), T3 (C1S1 – desalted) and T4 (C4S4 – salinized). The variables studied were leaf count, height, weighing of green phytomass (aerial and root parts) and dry phytomass (aerial and root parts). The results for number and height of plants were insignificant in relation to the water treatments submitted to the species, making it clear that water did not directly interfere with their development. However, with regard to phytomass, it was observed that the plant species coriander obtained better results in relation to its growth with treatment with water type C4S4. It is concluded that regarding the growth and development of the species, the results obtained are not very relevant with regard to the treatments to which they were subjected. In comparison to the aerial and root phytomass of the sun rose, this cultivation was not very effective for its good development, since the majority of the plants suffered total loss. It was also observed that the production of green phytomass (aerial part) of Coriandrum sativum L., obtained better performance in C4S4 type treatments, possibly indicating that this treatment provides the crop with better phytomass growth and, which is important, as it is the aerial part that is economically commercialized.
