Resumo:
The objective of this research is to analyze the construction of female identity from the montage and passability used by Damas Gs and Damas Trans of a June gang in Campina Grande-PB. The “stylized” June gangs propose structural changes in dance, in material aspects: costumes, sets, music, and choreographies, as well as in ideological aspects, verified with their proposal to address important topics for social debat e in their presentations. As a result, there has been an increase in the protagonism of LGBT people, trans women and homosexual cross-dressing artists who play the role of ladies. In the field of Social Sciences, and especially in Queer Theory, the debate on identity and social roles has been conducted from the understanding of the performative logic of the subject beyond the dichotomy male x female. Thus, the exercise proposed in the production of this work was based on the understanding of the mechanisms of construction of female identity of the Gs Ladies and Trans Ladies / transvestites, and for this, we used as techniques for data collection, the interview, participant observation, audiovisual records and documentary analysis. Previously, we verified that the June gangs, as a space for sociability, are configured as producers of symbolic meaning and, therefore, constructors of identity processes, and the transformations that occur in their midst are a reflection of social changes. In addition to the debate on maintaining (or not) the binary matrix (man = gentleman x woman = lady) present in the square scene, the protagonism of Damas Gs and Damas Trans promotes the re-signification and re-edition of dance in the June tradition. And, finally, even though the June gangs are considered spaces of welcome and respect for sexual and gender diversity, it does not mean that there are no conflicts and disputes for space and representation.
