Abstract:
The umbuzeiro (Spondias tuberosa) is a native species of the Brazilian semiarid region and has
no recorded occurrence elsewhere in the world. It is capable of developing in soil varieties in
the northeastern and southeastern regions of Brazil. This species is of great nutritional
importance, as it is rich in various vitamins, and economically, as it is raw material for various
products. The present study aims to evaluate the performance of synthetic rooting in the
Spondias tuberosa species in a greenhouse. In order to promote vegetative reproduction with
the technique of cuttings. The experiment was carried out between october 19th and january
17th, 2023, at the greenhouse of the Federal University of Campina Grande, Center for
Education and Health of the Municipality of Cuité - Paraíba. The experimental design was
entirely randomized, with four treatments and four repetitions, 16 experimental units, with a
total of 48 seedlings. The treatments consist of different rooting agents and their respective
concentrations, T1 control, T2 - ANA at 0.4%; T3 - ANA at 1%; T4 - IBA at 2%. Analyzing
the research data, there was no significant influence of rooting agents on seedlings compared to
control. It is concluded that the rooting agents with their respective concentrations did not obtain
significant results under the conditions in which the experiment was developed.
