Abstract:
This monographic report presents a research carried out within the scope of Geography teaching and its relation with Countryside Education, that had as a goal to build together with students in Geography class the teaching resource titled “The illustrative cordel of Semiarid” and report the steps in the development of the production of this resource within the scope of Participant-Research in the context of geographic education in countryside school. We begin with the concerns about the lack of teaching resources in Geography teaching that would dialogue with the context of students from countryside schools in the Semiarid. Therefore, we realized that the cordel has a great potential to be used as a methodological strategy in the teaching-learning process, for presenting a range of possibilities to be explored. We found that this research is important because, in addition to carry out an intervention in the classroom, producing a contextualized teaching resource called “The illustrative cordel of Semiarid” together with basic education students, it contributed to the expansion of Geography teaching through the valorization of the identity and culture of the subjects based on the drawings made by the students, regarding the themes: Geography Teaching, Countryside Education and Semiarid region.
