Resumo:
Evaluations in the educational segment present themselves as a challenge due to the many
criteria to be considered. Thus, the present work proposes a new approach to evaluate Brazilian
higher education institutions using a DEA model in networks. The proposed model contemplates
two steps in parallel and aims to evaluate undergraduate and graduate activities considering the
sharing of resources between these activities and undesirable variables. A sample with 81 public
universities was used to illustrate the method and the data correspond to the year 2020. The
proposed approach provides new insights into Brazilian higher education and through efficiency
decomposition, the decision maker can identify the least efficient academic structure, facilitating
the development of improvement strategies for each university.
