Résumé:
In the last few years the amount of plastic residues in garbage dumps has vastly
increased, causing great harm to the environment and to people's health. Since plastic
materials are potentially recyclable, one of the most viable alternatives to treat these
materials, present in garbage dumps, is recycling and this way turning them into new
markeatable products This is the reason, in this work, the perfomance of a recycled
polyolefinic plastic material obtained from urban residues from Northeastern Brazil, to be
used in packaging, civil construction and domestic tools was evalued. In order to do so,
the material was repeatedly extruded and the effect of the number of extrusions as well
as the addition of stabilizing and compatibilizing agents on its mechanical properties
were investigated The results show that, if property formulated, this material has
potential applications in domestic tools, packaging, sanitary and civil constrution
industrial sectors.
