Gênero e sexualidade nos livros didáticos de Sociologia no Ensino Médio das escolas do Agreste Pernambucano: retrocessos, desafios e resistência na conjuntura atual das reformas educacionais no Brasil.

Abstract

Studies on gender and sexuality in Education have highlighted how this field is still permeated by a set of violations and violence against those who do not meet the standard gender and sexuality norm or do not fit into the gender roles and identities that are established in the social context. This topic has been the subject of many questions in recent years and it is believed that there is now a general consensus regarding the need for Sexual Education at school. In this direction, this investigative work seeks to identify and problematize the impacts of the educational reforms of the BNCC and the New High School on the theoretical-methodological proposals of the PNLD 2021 textbooks, prioritizing the themes of Gender and Sexuality as the agenda. Methodologically, the research follows different paths. Considering the object in question, we opted for bibliographical research, documentary research and descriptive research, aiming to describe characteristics and phenomena of a given reality. The research was carried out in some High School Reference Schools (EREMs) in Agreste Pernambucano. The results showed that the textbooks in question should be more evident and objective about concepts related to gender and sexuality, as well as discussing the social and historical issues surrounding these themes. In addition, the execution of practical and reflective activities, according to the questionnaire applied in one of the schools, to high school students, highlighted the need they feel for debates that contribute to the formation of a critical and respectful conscience in relation to diversity and point out the lack of content and more clarity on these topics in the textbook.
